Between Key Competences and Potentialities: How to empower child's unique potential in schools?
Time & Location

Bruxelles, Rue de l'Industrie 10, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium
About the Event
Coming from the early childhood, primary and secondary education sectors, the European Council for Steiner Waldorf Education honours the Year of Skills with the highlight on acquisition and nourishing of key competences. They see learning as a process that goes beyond a narrow academic understanding, one that also includes needs for more diversity and better inclusion of different learners in a classroom. Still, they understand the challenges with teaching and tracking the development of such competences in a school environment.
In this policy event, Kath Bransby and Martyn Rawson will elaborate on key competences from the Steiner Waldorf perspective and how the development of those can be nurtured in formal educational settings, including a framework for an inclusive curriculum. Their experience in Waldorf schools brings a fresh perspective when it comes to the importance of holistic education, personalised assessment and a whole-school approach towards unravelling a child's unique potential.
