98th QoC is organised in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Platform Week - the LLLWeek 2025 by two members Learning for Well-Being Foundation & European Council for Steiner Waldorf Education under the umbrella of Alliance for Childhood- European Network Group activity.
Background and context
We are living in a historical moment shaped by three main societal trends that impact the way of
living and learning of children and adults, of young and aged people. These 3 major trends are:
climate change, demographic change and digitalisation/AI. Education is a process allowing people
to live as active and responsible citizens and supports lifelong learning in a rapidly evolving society.
Therefore, it is essential to enhance the role of education for future generations and to rethink
pedagogical approaches. Education must equip people with the skills and tools needed to navigate
these changes and to protect the planet.
The concept of regenerative education seems to fit well with this mission. In this context, we would
like to investigate how this innovative educational approach can provide methodologies, methods,
practices and tools to equip children with the right knowledge, competences and skills to unfold their
full potential - as human beings who are mentally, emotionally and physically connected to each
other and to the world around
To this end, we would like to organise this event focused on the climate crisis and sustainability.
This event will provide a space to deep dive which competencies are needed, and how to promote
and teach them effectively. Our goal is to support the development of green practices and green
competences, aligned with the European Commission’s GreenComp framework, to raise children in
healthy, green environments and schools—empowering them to contribute to a more sustainable
world.
